Synopsis
With all three elemental guardians assembled, it seems the Paradox brothers are unbeatable with their Gate Guardian, a Trinity monster in the same class as Exodia. But Yugi and Joey are relentless in their battle to win entrance to Pegasus's castle.

With Yugi's Dark Magician still protected in the magical hats, the water guardian's attack only succeeds in destroying Joey's monster. But with team work the two manage to destroy the first section of the Trinity. With the water monster gone, the Gate Guardian is weakened.

Teamwork begins to pay off, as Yugi and Joey combine monsters to form the Black Skull Dragon, a combination of the Summon Skull and Red Eyes Black Dragon. But the flying beast is unable to move in the labyrinth.

The two brothers play Ryoku, a card which steals the hitpoints from Joey and Yugi, but they counter it by reviving the water monster on their team. As the brothers destroy the monster with their Guardian, the tables are turned as Yugi switches monsters bringing forth the Black Skull Dragon and Joey replays Ryoku using a magic card.

Together the two defeat the Paradox brothers and solve the puzzle of the doors, successfully gaining acces to the castle.

Meanwhile, Kaiba finds his brother but Mokuba's soul is trapped inside a card by Pegasus. The only way he will release him is if Kaiba battles Yugi and wins. But can he defeat his old enemy when his deck was unable to in the previous rematch? Begin to find out in the next climatic episode.
Notes
Quotes
Dox : That swordsman started nothing before he left choaking.

Joey: "A RULE? Oh no!"
Dox: "Oh yes! And the rule states that the labrynth is a no-fly zone!"
Joey: "Aw nuts. My red-eyes can only move by flight. These rules stink."

Joey: Hmm... Copycat? Copies one card your opponent's thrown on the field...Hmmmmm...Ooo! HeHeHe! Aw man I just got a killer idea!

Joey: Heh, beat you at your own game!
Yami Yugi: BOTH of them!

Joey: All right, Bozo Brothers, try this on for size, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
Yami Yugi: And with the power of my Polymerization card, I'll combine Joey's Red-Eyes with my Summoned Skull.
Para and Dox: Ugh! A combo!
Yami Yugi: You now face...
Joey: The supreme Black Skull Dragon!

Goofs and Nitpicks
  • Right before Para and Dox do their big flips for the Ryoku card, you can see a split second of the whole gang(with little Yugi) as they are before they are challenged. Oops!
  • when yugi uses his spell binding circle on gate gardian he says it makes the gardian 700 defense points weaker, but in every other episode when yugi uses the spell binding circle it makes the monster 700 attack points weaker
  • in this episode when joey uses copycat as ryokou, he takes half of the paradox brothers' lifepoints, which was 900, but when they are added to the black skull dragon's attack it only goes up 800 points, 3200 to 4000
  • Actually they showed BSD's ATK at 3100 go up 900 to 4000. They messed up on that.
  • When Yugi activated Spell-Binding Circle, he SAID it lowered Gate Guardian's DEF 700, but when he attacked with Summoned Skull (2500/1200) at Suijin (2500/2100) but Para lost 700 life points, meaning he actually WAS powered down by 700 ATK.
  • When Joey played Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Yugi played Polymerization, but how could he play that on Joey's turn?
  • When Suijin attacked Flame Swordsman powered up to 2500 ATK, why did Joey lose 300 life points?
  • When the Black Skull Dragon was summoned, the Paradox Brothers said that it couldn't move in the labyrinth. However, in the first episode of this trilogy, we saw that the Labyrinth wall was actually a monster card, and it was put down in defense mode with a defense of 3000. So why didn't Joey just have his Black Skull Dragon attack and destroy the Labyrinth wall, thus changing the rules of the field back to normal, and then giving Joey and Yugi the chance to just attack the Gate Guardian with no maze-related worries?
  • 'Cause that wouldn't be dramatic.
  • CORRECTION: Even though Polymerization is not a Quick Play Magic card, the show makes the magic card be played in this manner.
  • When Joey drew Copycat, Copycat's level was shown as 5 but it is really a level 1.
  • Copycat is always shown as a level 5 Monster in the TV show.
  • The polymirisation(I think I spelt that right) is not a goof. A the end of Episode two, Yami plays two cards face down. At the start of episode three, he activates one of them, revealing it to be mirror force. Then later in the episode, he activates the other card (Spellbinding circle) and plays another face down card. Then later he activates that card, which is polymirisation.
