However in the first episode, he says, "My grandfather's deck has no pathetic cards but it does contain the unstoppable Exodia!" How come during the flashbacks Yugi keeps saying different things? (This isn't the first time he said something different.)

CORRECTION: It's common sense that they say different things in the flashbacks because they can't say EVERYTHING because they are limited to time. If they showed every little detail of a flashback, then the show would run past it's time limit. (duh)

Correction: hey, steffenmc, why don't you think before you write in a correction. The flashbacks use the same amount of time as they did in Previous Episodes so it doesn't make sense that the characters would say different things. (duh)
I think I what he means about flashbacks taking up time. True, flashback scenes do take the same amount of time, it is done to summarize them. Yugi only said Now I play Exodia the Forbidden One because if he had said the pathetic card part, Kaiba would have had to call them pathetic cards. This is just to summarize things for people who haven't seen the episode.
